For the unversed, Sehwag boasts 2 triple centuries to his name and one has to agree that scoring one triple century could be a mighty task for the current-era players. The right-handed batter managed to score 2 triple centuries to his name during his era and against fiery pacers.

Much to the surprise of the Indian fans, he is also the holder of the five-for in Test cricket. To add more, Sehwag picked up a five-wicket haul to his name during the game against Australia (AUS) in Delhi in 2008. One has to agree that it might take time to break this record or cannot be broken at all.

2) Most runs in  single day of  test by an Indian batter

One has to agree that Virender Sehwag was one of the fiery openers, almost every bowler feared to bowl to. The right-handed batter boasts a record that might take days or even years to break by the current generation of players. To add more, Sehwag flaunts the record of holding the most runs scored in a single day of Test by an Indian batter.

As far as the record is concerned, Sehwag once scored 284 runs in a single day during the 2009 Test in Mumbai against Sri Lanka (SL) and eventually made his way back to the dressing room after contributing 293 runs to India’s scoreboard the next day.

1) Virender Sehwag’s fastest 300

Virender Sehwag, who flaunts 2 triple centuries in the longest format of the game, scored one of them at a blistering pace, which is still the fastest triple century in history. During the Test match played between South Africa (SA) and India in Chennai in March 2008, Sehwag reached the feat in just 278 balls, making it the fastest 300 in history.

Given that cricketers are struggling to get past the 200-run mark, Sehwag’s record of the fastest triple century might never be broken in the future at all. It still remains one of the best knocks ever played by an Indian in the history of Test cricket.
