Indian T20 League 2023: Top Three debutants’ performances

Nehal Wadhera injected some much needed pace into Mumbai’s innings in their first game of the Indian T20 League 2023 against Bangalore. Alongside Tilak Varma’s dazzling 84 off 46, Wadhera’s quickfire 21 off 13 with two maximums and one boundary was crucial in Mumbai posting a competitive 171/7 in 20 overs

Chennai posted 178/7 in their 20 overs asking Gujarat for a competitive chase. However, the defending champions chased the target down with great intent and Rajvardhan Hangargekar remained the brightest spark for Chennai’s bowling. He returned with figures of 3/36 in his four overs and was the pick of the bowlers.

Kyle Mayers, who opened the batting alongside skipper KL Rahul, scored 73 off just 38 balls, courtesy of 2 boundaries and 7 maximums.Mayers’s performance deserves the tag of the best debut in season 16 of the ITL.
