South Africa beat India in the Super 12 stage but couldn’t qualify into the semis. On the other hand, in the 2017 Champions Trophy, Sri Lanka beat India in the league stage but couldn’t progress into the semis.

3. West Indies couldn’t qualify for the Super 12s

West Indies failed to qualify for the 2017 Champions Trophy as they couldn’t finish in the top eight teams in the rankings. In the ongoing World Cup, West Indies had the chance to progress into the Super 12s but were knocked out of the competition from the first round itself.
