Following their brilliant campaign in 2003 ODI World Cup, the Men in Blue were one of the favourites to win the 2007 ODI World Cup in the West Indies. However, to their horror, the team lost to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh which followed to a group stage exit from the competition.

5. Pakistan

In the nineth edition of the ODI World Cup, Pakistan were outclassed by Ireland and host West Indies which resulted to a humiliating group stage exit in 2007.

4. West Indies

The inaugural edition of the 20-20 World Cup in 2007 was played on South Africa. West Indies was one of the biggest teams among the participating nations, but things went extremely south for West Indies as they were knocked out of the tournament in the group stage itself.

3. Australia 

Australia had a devastating outing in the 2009 20-20 World Cup which was played in England. Australia lost their group stage matches against Sri Lanka and the West Indies to get knocked out of the tournament.

2. England

ODI World Cup 2015 was like a nightmare for one of the strongest teams, England. Eoin Morgan’s men could win only two matches out of six. Eventually, England eliminated from the first round of the 11th edition of the ODI World Cup.
