Bopanna and Ramkumar Ramanathan paired for the first time but were completely in sync throughout the tournament. This was Bopanna's 20th ATP doubles title. Ramkumar, on the other hand, was only playing his second final. He reached the finals of the Hall of Fame Tennis Championships in 2018 but failed to bag the title.
Post the match, Bopanna heaped praise on his partner. โWhen Ramkumar is serving by your side, you can finish the point early, so that was an advantage,โ said Bopanna.
The pair won the prize money of USD 18700 which will be split equally between the two. They will also gain 250 ranking points individually. The win is a massive boost for Ramkumar ahead of the Australian Open qualifiers, where he will be eyeing to make it to the main draw of the Grand Slam.
