Cricket is a game of skills and batters enjoy the most benefits in the shortest format of the game, the T20Is. Many even call it ‘the batters’ game’ given the number of runs batters are scoring in the format with every passing day. Eventually, teams from the likes of India, England, Afghanistan and Australia went as close to scoring more than 240 on a few occasions in the past and one can be sure that the record might be broken at the earliest.

However, bowlers, on the other hand, end up facing the wrath, given the number of restrictions they have in the initial overs. Despite all the odds, there are bowlers who stood out among the best with the most maidens in the format in 2022. We decided to handpick four bowlers with the most maidens in the format in 2022 and Uganda’s Frank Nsubuga stands fourth on the list.

Here are the four bowlers with the most maidens in T20Is in 2022:

4) Frank Nsubuga (Uganda) - 4 maidens

Frank Nsubuga, the Ugandan bowler, is one of the best in business for the team and much to the delight of the cricket fans, the pacer ranks fourth in the list of bowlers with the most maidens bowled in the T20I format in the ongoing year.

To add more, out of 37 career wickets, 18 wickets came in 2022 in the 17 matches that he has played so far. However, Nsubuga boasts yet another record to his name as the slow left-arm orthodox has bowled 4 maidens in the shortest format of the game in 2022.

3) Yalinde Maurice Nkanya (Tanzania) - 4 maidens

Yalinde Maurice Nkanya is the latest sensation for Tanzania and the slow left-arm orthodox made his debut against Cameroon in September 2022. Eventually, Nkanya has played 21 matches since then this year and has gathered 31 wickets to his name with 4 maidens and an economy of 4.11.

Although one could argue that the bowler is yet to compete against Test-playing nations like England, India and Australia, one has to agree that Nkanya is fast becoming Tanzania’s trusted bowler, in the shortest format of the game in specific.

2) Ghulam Ahmadi (Germany) - 5 maidens

Ghulam Ahmadi, the German cricketer, made his debut against Norway in 2021 and since then, the player has been growing in stature, given that he is yet to face off against the likes of Jos Buttler, Babar Azam and Virat Kohli. However, Ahmadi has been impressive this year for Germany and has gathered 13 wickets in T20Is.

However, Ahmadi joins the list of players with the most number of maidens in the format this year. To add more, the right-arm off-break managed to bowl 5 maidens and it remains to be seen if he could carry on with the momentum in the upcoming games as well.

1) Bhuvneshwar Kumar (India) - 7 maidens

Bhuvneshwar Kumar is one of the best bowlers for team India and with the ability to swing the ball, the Indian pacer can rattle the opponent batters single-handedly on his day and could well be deadly when the ball swings in overcast conditions or due to greenish pitches.

Out of the 32 matches that Bhuvneshwar has played in T20Is so far this year, he has racked up 37 wickets to his name with two four-fors and one five-for to his name. Eventually, the talismanic pacer tops the list with 7 maidens to his name in the T20I format this year.
