The organizers have done with the auctions of the Pro Kabaddi 2022. The 12 Franchises have decided to few big names in the recently-concluded auction for the ninth season of the League. Mumbai hosted the two-day-long event of auction. During this auction, the four players ended up joining the ‘Crorepati’ club of the Pro Kabaddi League.

Iranian superstar all-rounder Fazel Atrachali went on to achieve one of the biggest bids with 1.38 crore. Puneri Paltan won this bidding war among some bids from the other franchises as well. Apart from this, senior Indian player Pawan Sehrawat ended up being the costliest player in the history of PKL auctions. Tamil Thalaivas signed Sehrawat for an amount of INR 2.26 crore.

Atrachali and Sehrawat have enjoyed a fair hike this year. But things were not similar with some other players during the auction, their salaries have fallen down almost half in comparison to the one they received in the last season of 2021.

Siddharth Desai

Telugu Titans signed the talented raider for a handsome amount of INR 1.3 crore. But Siddharth Desai could get a chance to feature in only three matches for the franchise as he sustained an injury during the season. Although he performed a bit well in the chances he got to play.

Later on, the Titans went on to release Desai before the auction for PKL 2022. Everybody was hoping that he will get many buyers easily but the Titans bid for him and added him to the team only at his base price which was INR 20 lakh.

Rohit Gulia

Rohit Gulia is also among the list of most expensive players for the last season of the PKL in 2022. Haryana Steelers put their money dedicatedly to including Gulia in their squad. Notably, Haryana bought him in the amount of INR 83 lakhs. Although, he couldn’t perform that much up to the expectations and scored only 69 points in the season.

Haryana released him ahead of the auction for the season which is to be played this season. Later on, in the auction, Patna Pirates played a gamble on Gulia and they added him in their team with an amount of INR 30 lakh only.

Ravinder Pahal

Gujarat Giants had picked one of the best defenders who ever played in the PKL. The franchise spent INR 74 lakhs in bringing Ravinder Pahal to their camp. The veteran defender ended the season with some good stats but still, the Gujarat franchise decided to release him during the auctions for the ninth season.

In the auction of 2022, Telugu Titans went on to win the hammer of bid for Ravinder Pahal. But this time the amount for Pahal is only INR 23 lakhs. He can be seen In the Jersey of Telugu Titans this year.

Rahul Chaudhari

Senior player Rahul Chaudhari had gone through an unforgettable season during last year’s stint with Puneri Paltan. Apart from that, they didn’t play him in enough matches, and the days when he appeared were not in his favor. The Pune-based franchise had bought Chaudhari for INR 40 lakhs from their purse.

Speaking of this year’s auction, the Jaipur Pink Panthers were the only team to bid for the senior player and they bought him at only his base price of INR 10 lakhs. The Champions of the inaugural season will be hoping the lad to perform in the ninth season.

Baldev Singh

Baldev Singh

Puneri Paltan surpassed everyone last year in the auction of Pro Kabaddi 2021 to pick right corner defender Baldev Singh in their squad. The franchise spent INR 60 lakhs for him. But eventually, the Pune-based franchise released him ahead of the PKL’s season of 2022.

The Gujarat-Based franchise went on play a gamble on the name of Baldev Singh during the auction of this year. They bought the defender but this time the amount Baldev received is only INR 21.5 lakh which is less the 50% of his last year’s salary.
