The ongoing season of the Premier League 2022 hasn't started well for Manchester United. They had entered the new season after a disappointing end to their last season. In the ongoing season, they started their campaign with a 2-1 loss to Brighton. In their next game against Brentford, they were beaten and severely bruised by 4-0. The game was finished for the Green Brigade in the first half itself.

Josh Dasilva started the proceeding for Brentford in the 10th minute. After eight minutes, Mathias Jensen scored the second goal for the team. Notably, the build-up to the scoring was absolutely hilarious. A poor show from United's De Gea meant that the ball went to Jansen and he ensured the goal was executed.

After the game, De Gea said that it was a horrible day for him and should have saved the shot.

"It was a horrible day," De Gea said. "I should have saved the first shot and then the result may have been different.

"Other teams concede one goal and win 5-1. We have to react much better. It was a poor performance."

He added that he cost his side three points and the two mistakes from him during the game made it tough for his team.

"I think I cost three points to my team today to be honest. It was a poor performance from myself. Of course after the first mistake and the second it was very tough for the team to get playing. It was a horrible day," David De Gea added.

"I subbed three but I could've changed them all," Erik ten Hag on wanting to substitute his entire team at half-time

"We will learn, we will have to learn, it's not good enough and it's not the level and the standard of how we want to act," he added.
