Russia's attack on Ukraine has taken the world by storm. It was on 24 February when the Russians started sending their forces into the country, which led to absolute chaos. According to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, there have been 900 deaths and 1459 injured people as of now. Thus, the whole world has come in support of Ukraine.
Many popular names have gone to show their support for the people of the country. One of them happens to be David Beckham. The football legend recently handed over his Instagram handle to Dr Iryna, who happens to be the head of Kharkiv’s regional perinatal centre. She is currently helping mothers and their newborns during the unfortunate war crisis.
Beckham took to Instagram to post a clip where he can be seen drawing light over the same. The former Real Madrid and Manchester United player also thanked people for their donations. He also requested everyone to continue supporting these people. It is to be noted that Beckham has 71 million followers on Instagram.
“Thanks to your donations, the oxygen generators they have received are helping newborns survive in appalling conditions. Head over to my stories to learn more about the amazing work Iryna and health workers like her are doing to save lives in Ukraine. Please continue to support these incredible people," said David Beckham in the video.

In the meanwhile, Dr Iryna stated that the patients were shifted into the basement on the first day of the invasion. Further on, she elaborated on the entire situation. In another story, she also spoke about how she is continuously working in order to help the people.
“It was a terrible three hours that we spent together. Unfortunately, we can’t take babies who are in intensive care to the basement because they rely on life-saving equipment. The first days were the most difficult. We had to learn how to work with bombings and strikes,” said Dr Iryna.
“My workday is 24/7 now, I work all day. We are probably risking our lives, but we don’t think about it at all. We love our work. Doctors and nurses here, we worry, we cry, but none of us will give up," she added.
