If reports are to be believed, Callum Hudson-Odoi is mulling over quitting the England national team. The Chelsea winger is likely to switch his nationality to Ghana. Callum seems to be disappointed after being dropped to the under -21 team. He was asked to come and play for the U-21 side, an offer which he declined.

The winger is eligible to play for Ghana despite representing England thrice. His last appearance for England came in 2019. As per FIFA rules, Callum can represent Ghana as he did not play for England in UEFA and FIFA tournament while all his appearances came before he turned 21. Callum can apply for a switch in November 2022, just before the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Earlier, Callum said that he considers Ghana as his second home and can play for the African country in the future.

"I think obviously when you’re young, you have the opportunity to play for England throughout all the years, from under 15 to under 16 all the way up. When they obviously gave me the opportunity to come I was in the country already," Sporskeeda quoted Callum Hudson-Odoi

“It’s something that I already had in my mind, set on already playing for England. So it was the thing obviously choosing Ghana or England, and at the end of the day I said I always had the right people around me who always advise me – what’s right, what’s wrong. England came and I said 'Yeah, let me go and play for my country."

“But I said Ghana is my home as well, so we’ll see, we’ll see. You’ll never know, so.”
