The release of the biggest triple-A titles is set to take the gaming world to a whole new level. If the reports are to be believed, then the upcoming event of Sony might release real soon as well. However, prior to that, Horizon: Forbidden West, as well as Elden Ring will be getting their official releases by next month.

Tom Henderson, who happens to be one of the most trusted sources with respect to Battlefield, Call of Duty and Helo infinite, has recently hinted the same. He took to Twitter to state that the rumours circulating around the release of State of Play are really strong. He also cited the potential of it being really big.

“The current rumor is that the next Sony event looks like it could be in February based on this month’s media events and past PlayStation dates. It’ll probably be State of Play, but it has the potential to be a pretty big one IMO.” Henderson is not leaving out the thought that it might be something even bigger, possibly PS “Showcases"," read Tom Henderson's Tweet.

It is to be noted that 2021 wasn't really a great year for the gaming community, as several games weren't there from PS’ showcases, with some of the biggest names being Ghostwire: Tokyo, Hogwarts Legacy, and even God of War: Ragnarok. However, these games are set to have an official release in the next few months. This is a golden opportunity for Sony to take advantage of the current scenario.

Thus, it wouldn't be surprising if Sony does capitalize on them with an upcoming event. Moreover, there is a huge chance that the next State of Play or Showcase (whichever it may be) looks to feature the sequel for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and the next-gen Last of Us remake.
