For the first time in his life, former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh is celebrating father's day as a dad. In January this year, his wife Hazle Keech delivered a baby boy. In the last five months or so, they never publicly revealed the name of their child. However, on the occasion of World Father's Day (June 19), Singh and Keech revealed the name of their son.

The name of the child is Orion Keech Singh. The two-time World Cup winner explained the reason for such an interesting name. He said that Orion is a star constellation and every kid is a star for their parents. The left-hander revealed that he was watching the episodes of a series from where the name came into his mind.

“Orion is a star constellation and for parents, your kid is your star. When Hazel was pregnant, and sleeping in the hospital, I was watching some episodes where the name came to me and Hazel took an instant liking to it. I wanted Hazel’s last name also to come in the baby’s name, so that’s how it came about,” he reveals.

The 41-year-old added that he and his wife were trying to have a child, but to no avail. He also revealed how he couldn't see his wife when she was four months pregnant.

“We had been trying for a while to have a baby but it didn’t happen. Hazel was four months pregnant when she left for England, and just when I had to go, I got Covid, so I had to quarantine for two weeks before I could see her,” Singh said while speaking to Hindustan Times over a phone call.

The Chandigarh-born player retired from international cricket and the Indian domestic cricket in 2019. It wouldn't be an overstatement to call him one of the impactful all-rounders in the history of Indian cricket. After his retirement, he joined the Toronto Nationals team in the Global T20 League in Canada.
