Even after some of his remarkable performances, Gill is frequently on the receiving end of criticism. He made his appearance in white-ball cricket after a long wait of 18 months. Senior Indian batter Shikhar Dhawan was in the role of stand-in skipper during the series against the men in maroon.

Team India completely outplayed the hosts in the ODI series and clinched it in a clean sweep with a handsome score line of 3-0. Later on, the men in blue won the five-match T20I series with a stunning score line of 4-1.

Coming back to Gill, he has recently talked about his batting but his statement attracted criticism from the fans over social media. Fans went on to call him arrogant and lashed out at him for his remarks.

I don’t really care about what people are saying - Shubman Gill

In the limited-overs series against the West Indies, Team India performed admirably, winning the ODIs 3-0 and the T20Is 4-1.

Shikhar Dhawan was in charge as the 50-over phase of the match got things going. India accomplished their first-ever whitewash in West Indies despite captaining a very inexperienced team with regular players only available for the T20Is.

Shubman Gill, who returned to playing in white-ball internationals after an extended absence of more than 18 months, served as the driving force behind India's dominant performance in the Caribbean.

The 22-year-old hitter amassed 205 runs at an average of 102.50 over the course of the three games, making him the series' top run scorer. His performance was so strong that he nearly reached his first ODI century before being left stranded on 98 because of bad weather.

Despite his remarkable performance in the West Indies, Gill has frequently found himself on the losing end of criticism from fans who have slammed his strike rate and called him a selfish batter.

"I feel questions will always be raised, but I don’t really care about what people are saying as long as I’m able to contribute to my team’s success, and as long as I am doing what my team management and my captain expect of me," said Gill during his conversation with The Telegraph.
