After the successful commencement of the first-ever edition of the Women’s U-19 20-20 World Cup, the inception of the Women’s T20 League in India is set to embrace women’s cricket in the cricketing world; after being inspired by the idea of the men’s Indian T20 League. Meanwhile, 409 players out of more than 1500 players, have been registered to go under the hammer during the auction for the first-ever Women’s T20 League.

The inaugural edition of the Women’s U-19 20-20 World Cup witnessed a couple of rising stars who might dominate senior cricket in the upcoming years. With said that, here we’ll have a look at the five uncapped players who might be the top ones to watch out for during the auction for the Women’s T20 League.

Grace Scrivens (England Women’s U-19)

The 19-year-old opener Grace Scrivens led the England Women’s U-19 team to the final of the first edition of the Women’s U-19 20-20 World Cup. She also produced some brilliant performances in the World Cup with three amazing half-centuries including a knock of 93 runs against Ireland Women.

Apart from this, she also won the ‘player of the tournament award for her outstanding performances throughout the tournament both with the bat and the ball. So considering her current run of form, it can be said easily that Scrivens would be on the top of the list of players who could attract a high bid in the auction of the Women’s T20 League 2023.

Soumya Tiwari (India Women’s U-19)

The 17-year-old sensational Indian all-rounder Soumya Tiwari amazed everyone with her performances in the recently concluded Women’s U-19 20-20 World Cup 2023. She played a crucial knock of 28*, 22, and 24* including the semi-final and final as well. Notably, it was only Soumya who played the winning shot for India to clinch the inaugural edition of the U-19 20-20 World Cup.

The Bhopal-born prodigy has also played a lot of cricket for her state Madhya Pradesh’s senior team in a couple of domestic matches. Being placed in the bracket of INR 10 lakhs, she would definitely attract the eyeballs of the teams, that will participate in the auction.

Tess Flintoff (England Women’s U-19)

The Young England bowler hasn’t played any international game for either of the England Women’s U-19 teams. But she has delivered brilliantly both with the bat and the ball of late when she appeared for Victoria Women in the ongoing Women’s National Cricket  League.

Flintoff scored 43 runs with the bat in the recent match against Western Australia Women and also scalped a wicket in her quota of 10 overs. During the auction for the 2023 Women’s T20 League, the 19-year-old would be an interesting bid to fight for; among the participating teams.

Shorna Akter (Bangladesh Women’s U-19)

The 16-year-old all-rounder was recently a part of the Bangladesh Women’s U-19 in the recently-concluded first edition of the Women’s 20-20 World Cup. But Akter was one of the players for Bangladesh who performed brilliantly in whatever opportunities were given to her in the marquee tournament in Australia.

She played three crucial knocks of 22, 20, and 38 runs respectively, and owing to that, the franchises might count on her during the auction of the first edition of the Women’s T20 League.

Parshavi Chopra (India Women’s U-19)

The star Indian U-19 bowling all-rounder Parshavi Chopra amazed everyone with her stunning performances in the title triumph run of the Indian Women’s U-19 Team. With her excellent bowling skills, the 16-year-old UP girl scalped a total of 10 wickets in the last five T20 appearances during the Women’s U-19 20-20 World Cup 2023.

All participating teams during the auction would like to go for a crucial leg-spinner and there would be no better option than Parshavi for this role. So, it might also attract an expensive bid for her.
