'Wonderful gesture'- Twitter reacts as Iftikhar Ahmed offers his lap for Azhar Ali

The ongoing three-match Test series between Pakistan and Australia hasn't lived up to the expectations of the fans. What was expected to be a thrilling series, turned out to be a rather snooze-fest. All three Tests saw batting-friendly conditions, which ultimately resulted in both the teams scoring a lot of runs.

As a result, the first two Tests turned out to be drawn. The third Test in Lahore has also seen both the teams bat rather comfortably. The fans have complained about the flat pitches as well. Nevertheless, a heartwarming gesture on Wednesday managed to win everyone's heart.

It involved Azhar Ali and Iftikhar Ahmed. During the second innings, Pakistan's number three batter was batting in humid conditions and looked tired. As he was facing world-class bowlers, he had to stay alert and couldn't afford a lapse in concentration. This led to him being really exhausted during the drinks break. What followed was an absolute smile-worthy moment from the substitute Ahmed.

The batter came into the field with drinks and offered his lap so that Ali can sit and relax for a while. This gesture resulted in him winning a lot of respect from the fans. The picture of the same went viral on Twitter and several fans were impressed with Ahmed. They spoke about how he showed respect to a senior player.

Nevertheless, the hosts were 227-3 at Tea on Day three. It will interesting to see how many more runs the Babar Azam-led side can end up scoring.
