India's U19 team has justified the hype around them, as they have been absolutely sensational in the ongoing U19 World Cup 2022 so far. As a matter of fact, they are yet to lose a game in the tournament. After beating Bangladesh by five wickets in the quarter-final, they have now advanced to the semi-final.

Thus, the Dhull-led side will now face Australia on February 2. However, it is to be noted that they had to play without their key players during their game against Ireland U19. As there were multiple COVID-19 cases in the side, a few players including the captain and vice-captain of India U19 had to miss the last two games of the group stage.

Thus, the India U19 captain spoke about the fighting spirit within his side. After the completion of the match against Bangladesh, Dhull went on to appreciate his team. The return of five players after they had tested negative for the deadly virus was a big boost for the team ahead of their game on Saturday.

“Our team combination has been very good and the boys are gelling well. Whenever someone is down, we all get together to bring them up. It is a lifetime experience here,” said Yash Dhull. The 19-year-old also went on to thank the National Cricket Academy (NCA) head VVS Laxman for his guidance.

“The team is improving day by day. Laxman sir is giving his experience, gives us a lot of help in the middle. We will look at the semis on the day of the match depending on how the wicket is,” he added.

As far as the game against the defending champions is concerned, the team in blue defeated them rather comfortably. After winning the toss and choosing to bowl first, the Indian bowlers kept picking wickets at regular intervals and thus, bundled the Hasan-led side for 111. India U19 then chased the total with 77 balls to spare
