The fans were also excited following this nail-biting thriller between India and New Zealand. They took to Twitter to lavish the praise on the Indian team for finishing across the line in the end.

Here's how fans reacted:

Talking about the entire action of the match, the men in blue got a steady start of 60 runs in 12.1 overs courtesy of the opening pair of skipper Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill. Although Sharma failed once again to convert a good start into a big knock and fell prey to Blair Tickner on the individual score of 34 runs off 38 balls with four boundaries and two sixes on his credit.

Other than Gill’s double century, Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya also contributed with individual knocks of 31 and 28 runs respectively. The duo of Henry Shipley and Daryl Mitchell scalped two wickets each alongside one wicket each claimed by Lockie Ferguson, Blair Tickner, and Mitchell Santner.

While chasing the target, the Kiwi team’s top and middle order couldn’t stay for long and they lost six wickets only on the score of 131 runs. But it was also the time when Michael Bracewell took the charge and stitched a crucial and big partnership of 162 runs for the seventh wicket. Mitchell Santner fell prey to Mohammed Siraj in the latter's last over of his quota followed by a wicket of Henry Shipley.

Eventually, Shardul Thakur ended the long-run knock of Michael Bracewell in the last over and helped team India to win the series opener by 12 runs. Shubman Gill won the 'player of the match award for his amazing double-century in favor of India.
