Manchester Originals and the Southern Brave crossed their swords at the Rose Bowl Stadium in the 18th match of the men’s Hundred 2022. Southern Brave’s skipper James Vince asked the Originals to bat first after winning the toss first. Senior skipper Jos Buttler and Philip Salt started the proceedings for the men in black.

The opening pair of Buttler and Salt provided a strong start to the Originals and they went on to score 46 runs after the first 25 balls. At this moment, Salt was playing on 32 runs off just 15 balls.

Jake Lintott of Southern Brave helped the Brave to get a breakthrough as he scalped the wicket of dangerous Philip Salt. He scored 38 runs off just 22 balls with four boundaries and a six to his name. Although, skipper Buttler kept hitting runs from the other side. But Lintott attacked again and went on to scalp Wayne Madsen to hamper the big score drive of Originals.

Originals posted a total of 188 runs for the loss of three wickets, thanks to the quick batting heroics of Andre Russell at the end of the innings as he scored 64 runs off just 23 balls.

Skipper James Vince and senior South African wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock opened the batting for the Originals. Seamer Sean Abbott scalped the wicket of skipper Vince in a caught and bowled. Marcus Stoinis also failed once again and could score only one run to his name.

Quinton de Kock also fell prey too early and things started getting hard for the Southerns in the match. Later on, Tim David also failed to deliver up to the expectations alongside George Garton and Rose Whiteley. Eventually, the Originals won the match by a big margin of 68 runs after bundling the Brave on 120 runs.
