The Ross Taylor controversy had taken the Indian T20 League and the Indian Cricket Board by storm. Apparently, in his recently released autobiography, he revealed that he was slapped by one of the Rajasthan owners. For the unversed, he was signed by Rajasthan franchise in the 2011 player auction. In the biography, he wrote “Rajasthan played Kings XI Punjab in Mohali. The chase was 195, I was lbw for a duck and we didn’t get close. Afterwards, the team, support staff and management were in the bar on the top floor of the hotel. Liz Hurley was there with Warnie. One of the Royals owners said to me, ‘Ross, we didn’t pay you a million dollars to get a duck’ and slapped me across the face three or four times. He was laughing and they weren’t hard slaps but I’m not sure that it was entirely play-acting,” Taylor revealed in the book.

“Under the circumstances, I wasn’t going to make an issue of it, but I couldn’t imagine it happening in many professional sporting environments,” he added.

The controversy has been grabbing the headlines. Till now, the Indian Cricket Board has decided to stay mum on the topic. One of the officials has reportedly said ‘I am on the road travelling now so I do not know exactly what you are talking about,” an Indian Cricket Board official told the InsideSport.

On the other hand, when the franchise owners were asked to comment on the matter, even they decided to stay silent on the matter.

“We don’t want to give any comment on this,” said a top official from the Rajasthan franchise.

The readers might remember that former Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty and business tycoon Raj Kundra were the shareholders in the team from 2008 to 2013. And, the fans suggest that the culprit is none other than Shilpa Shetty's husband.
