It was not a day for the Sri Lankan team that they would’ve expected but two of their players Jeffrey Vandarsay and Ashen Bandara injured themselves during an on-field collision with each other.

The incident happened on the fifth ball of the 43rd over of the Indian innings when Virat Kohli was batting on an individual score of 95 runs. The veteran Indian batter played a pull shot off the short ball from Chamika Karunaratne. Vandarsay started running left to him from the region of the deep backward square leg whereas Bandara was running right to him from the region of the deep midwicket.

Bandara happened to end up in a slide on his right leg in an attempt to stop the ball, but unfortunately, he ended up landing beneath his teammate Vandarsay. Eventually, the duo couldn’t stop the ball and Kohli got a boundary to reach the score of 99.
