New Zealand vs India

The Indian team is set to lock horns with Kane Williamson’s New Zealand. Notably, the men in blue are coming off an embarrassing outing in the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup 2022. Rohit Sharma & co. choked against England in the second semi-final of the tournament and lost the match by a massive margin of 10 wickets.

Following this defeat, most of the former cricketers and fans as well questioned some selections in the Indian squad for the eighth edition of the 20-20 World Cup. Having a perfect wicketkeeper-batter was one of the biggest concerns that came out following the end of India’s campaign in the tournament.

Meanwhile, Indian selectors have picked Sanju Samson, who could not make a cut to the squad of the Indian team for the 20-20 World Cup 2022. Subsequently, during the nets session of the Indian team ahead of the first T20I against the Kiwis, Sanju Samson took it as an opportunity to make the selectors and management realize what they overlooked while selecting the World Cup squad. The 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batter smashed some brilliant ‘no-look sixes’ during the nets which compelled his teammates to come to hail the former for brilliant batting heroics.

Indian cricket Board has posted this video of India’s training session before the series opener against New Zealand. The eagle-eyed fans took no time in noticing Sanju Samson hitting amazing ‘no-look sixes’ followed by the hailing voices from the surroundings.

Here’s the video:

Notably, Sanju Samson will be a part of the Indian squad for both the three-match T20I series and the three-match ODI series against New Zealand. The Indian team will play the T20I series under the captaincy of star all-rounder Hardik Pandya followed by the captaincy of Shikhar Dhawan in the three-match ODI series.

Most of the senior players including the likes of skipper Rohit Sharma, and senior batters, Virat Kohli, and KL Rahul will not be playing in this white-ball assignment against New Zealand.
