WATCH: Kaviya Maran gets marriage proposal by a fan during SA20 match between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Paarl Royals

Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Hyderabad owner Kaviya Maran went on to attend her team’s match in the SA20 2023. She was present there alongside former Caribbean batting legend Brian Lara and some other officials of the Hyderabad franchise of the Indian T20 League. She was there to watch the clash between Sunrisers Eastern Cape and Paarl Royals.

Both teams locked horns in the 14^th match of the inaugural edition of the tournament at the Boland Park in Paarl on Thursday, the 19^th of January.

Meanwhile, it was something else that went viral on social media other than Eastern Cape’s win against the Royals. A fan caught the eyeballs of everyone when he happened to propose to Kaviya Maran for marriage and subsequently, he was on-air during the telecast of the live match.

Later on, the video of this particular moment from the match was posted on the official Twitter handles of SA20 2023. The video of a fan proposing to Maran for marriage is now making rounds on social media and has also drawn various reactions.

Talking about the action of the match, Eastern Cape skipper Aiden Markram won the toss and asked Paarl Royals to bat first. The latter could post a total of only 127 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Wihan Lubbe and Corbin Bosch played the individual knocks of 28 and 20 runs respectively. They were the only two batters who crossed the individual mark of 20+ runs.

Brydon Carse, Roelof van der Merwe and skipper Aiden Markram scalped two wickets each alongside one wicket claimed by Sisanda Magala.

While chasing the target, Aiden Markram’s men easily crossed the line in the 19^th over with 10 balls remaining as they scored 131 runs for the loss of five wickets and won the match by five wickets. Jordan Hermann and skipper Markram played the crucial knocks of 43 and 23 runs respectively.
