The team will be looking to win their first-ever T20I series against the Proteas at home. The only time when the team won a T20I series against the Green Brigade was in 2018. At that time, the then Virat Kohli-led side beat the JP Duminy-led side by 2-1. Notably, this was their first-ever T20I series win in the rainbow nation.

The Men In Blue have either the T20I series against South Africa or have leveled the series. The team is the front runner after winning the last two games. After the second T20I, the team was trailing by 0-2 in the series. However, the comeback from the Rishabh Pant-led side has ensured the series is well and truly alive.

In the last game, Dinesh Karthik rescued the team as they were tottering at 96/4 in 15 overs. Karthik scored 55 off 27 balls including nine fours and two sixes. The team reached to a respectable total of 169/6. The bowlers responded well as they bundled out the opposition for 87 runs in 16.5 overs.

On the other hand, the Temba Bavuma-led side will looking to avoid the shame of losing the series after leading by 2-0 at one stage.
