WATCH: Fans chant 'Sara...Sara' as Shubman Gill fields near the boundary line

Young Indian batter Shubman Gill impressed everyone with his amazing century in the third and last of the three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. The 23-year-old batter played a sensational knock of 116 runs off 97 balls with 14 boundaries and two sixes to his name. Gill also stitched a crucial 131-run partnership with former skipper Virat Kohli for the second wicket.

Apart from his outstanding batting display, Gill made it to the headlines of social media for another reason. The Fazilka lad was fielding near the boundary line and the fans suddenly started chanting ‘Sara…Sara’ and tried to tease the youngster.

For the unversed, Gill and the young Bollywood actress Sara Ali Khan were reportedly dating each other a few days back as per the rumors on social media.

The video of this incident from the third ODI is now making rounds on social media within minutes of being shared by an Instagram user.

Now, the men in blue will lock horns with New Zealand in the upcoming three-match ODI series starting with the first match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Gill is also a part of the squad of team India for the 50-overs assignment against the Kiwis.

Following the conclusion of the ODI series against New Zealand, the Indian team will take on the visitors in the three-match T20I series as well.

Other than the limited-overs assignments, Rohit Sharma’s men are set to appear in the full-fledged high-voltage four-match Test series against Australia. Both teams will play the first of the four-match Test series at the Vidarbha Cricket Association Stadium in Nagpur.
