Coming back to the 23-year-old Couch, he was not in the playing XI of the stars for the tournament against Thunders. But the right-arm speedster stunned everyone with his brilliant fielding heroics on the field in the role of a substitute fielder for his team.

Although couch took a total of two catches in the lost match for Melbourne Stars the second stunner, he took in the last over of the second innings leaving everyone stunned and awestruck.

The video of that sensational catch immediately went viral over social media within minutes of being shared on Twitter. Interestingly, it was not even the legal match for Couch in the 2022 edition of the Big Bash League.

Here’s the video:

Speaking of the match between Stars and Thunders, it was completely a nail-biting thriller for the cricket fans as the latter won the match by a very close margin of only one run at the last ball of the match.

Melbourne batted first and could post a low total of only 122 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the allotted 20 overs. Nick Larkin was the only batter who crossed the mark of 20+ runs for his team.

Gurinder Sandhu, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Daniel Sams scalped two wickets each for Thunders in the first innings and restricted the opponent to a low total.

Although, Sydney also struggled a bit while chasing the target of 123 runs as they lost their nine wickets on the score of 115 runs. But the short and amazing cameo of 20 runs off 16 balls from Gurinder Sandhu helped Thunders to cross the line and win the match by one wicket to start their campaign with a win.

Sandhu won the ‘player of the match for his brilliant match-defining performance.
