The Netherlands came close to winning the third ODI against Pakistan but eventually fell short of the target by nine runs. They had to chase down a meagre total of 207 but ended up getting bundled out for 197 runs. Pakistan thumped the Netherlands and won the series 3-0 with Babar Azam flourishing in all-three ODIs.

Something more interesting than the match caught the eyes of the fans post Pakistan's victory. In the post-match presentation, Babar Azam accidentally referred to 'Netherlands' as 'Scotland' and credited their bowlers for exceptional performance in the third ODI.

The skipper highlighted the importance of trying their bench strength and gave a few hints on the pitch. He said that the ball did not come onto the bat well and admitted that his batters fell short of runs in the first innings.

"We tried our bench strength. Early on the ball wasn't coming on well. We were short in the first innings. But credit to the Scotland bowlers who bowled very well," the Pakistan skipper said in the post-match presentation.

The 28-year-old heaped praise on Naseem Shah as he bagged a five-for in the second innings and clinched the victory single-handedly for Pakistan. "We are happy as a team. All credit to boys. They bowled very well in the second innings. He's (Naseem) bowling very well with the new ball and in the death overs. Wasim also bowling well. And Dahani,” Azam added.

The Pakistan team will now march on to The Asia Cup on the back of a brilliant series victory. They will face India in their first outing and it will be a big test for them as the latter will look to bounce back from last year's 20-20 World Cup defeat.

Shaheen Afridi will miss out on The Asia Cup 2022 due to injury and Pakistan are yet to announce a replacement for him. The star player will also miss out on the T20I series against England. Meanwhile, The Men in Green will look to get off to a strong start in The Asia Cup against India on August 28.
