‘Uske liye pehle final pohonchna padta hai’ - Fans react to Shubman Gill’s ‘would want to be Spiderman in the World Cup Final’ statement

Shubman Gill has already joined Team India in England for getting prepared for the upcoming World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia at the Oval. The match will take place from 7-11 June 2023. After winning the Orange Cap in the recently concluded IPL, all eyes will be on Gill in the final.

But, ahead of this mega clash, he came up with a statement that left fans surprised. He said: "I would want to be Spiderman in the World Cup Final because I would have spider sense and I would be able to catch balls". The ODI World Cup 2023 is all set to take place in India later this year and the final is reportedly to take place at the Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad.

Shubman Gill won both the Orange Cap and the most valuable player award in IPL 2023

Apparently, Shubman Gill dubbed the voice of Indian Spider-Man, Pavitr Prabhakar in the recently released movie ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’ In a viral video, he was also seen posing as Spider-Man on top of a car while attending the Hindi trailer launch event of the movie. However, in IPL 2023, he scored 890 runs in 17 matches, at an average of 59.33 and a strike rate of 157.80. Gill smashed four fifties and three centuries.

Gill also became the most valuable player in the tournament. After bagging those two awards, the GT opener said: “Means a lot. The hard work that I've put in is going in the right direction for me. I think it was very important to start well and I started well. By the business end of the tournament, I converted the starts into big ones. I practiced a lot of and I changed my technique a little bit for the death. The SRH hundred was about control and the MI was knowing the situation and taking on the opposition. For any batsman, it was important to anticipate and I did that.”
