Gujarat became the first team to seal a spot in the final of the Indian T20 League 2022 after beating Rajasthan on Tuesday at Eden Gardens Stadium in Kolkata. The league has entered the business end of the tournament and soon, the fans will get to know which team ends up lifting the trophy.

There is no denying that the 15th edition was one of the best editions we have witnessed thus far in the league’s history. We have seen some sensational performances both with the bat and ball. Some of the teams have surprised with their performances as well.

Gujarat, in particular, has been outstanding throughout the tournament. Besides, there are also some players who took everyone by surprise with their consistent performances this year. Not a lot of people were expecting them to do well in the ongoing edition of the tournament. In this article, we will be talking about these three players:

For those of you who are unaware, David Miller went unsold in the first round of the Indian T20 League 2022. The South African cricketer, however, was eventually bought by Gujarat for INR 3 crore. Little did the fans know how he was going to play in the tournament.

Miller has played a massive role in taking Gujarat to the final. He played a match-winning knock of 68 runs in 38 balls in the qualifier 1 match against Rajasthan. Overall, he scored 449 runs in 15 matches at 64.14. Given how the last few seasons in the tournament went for Miller, not a lot of people expected him to perform so well for the team.

Umesh Yadav didn’t play a single game for Delhi last season and isn’t part of the Indian team in the white-ball cricket. He too went unsold in the initial round of the Mega Auction.

Kolkata, eventually, roped him in the unsold players’ round for only his base prize. Yadav impressed one and all with his fast bowling exploits from the first match itself and finished with 16 wickets in 14 matches at an economy of 7.06.

The veteran Indian wicket-keeper is no longer part of the Indian Test team. He too surprised one and all with the intent he showed while opening the innings for Gujarat. Saha consistently gave the team stellar starts with the bat and set the tone for the big scores. Saha scored 312 runs in 10 matches at an average of 34.67.
