While chasing the target, Australia crossed the finish line only in 16.3 overs to win the match and secure a massive win of seven wickets against Sri Lanka. The star Australian batting all-rounder Marcus Stoinis completely turned around the match in the favor of his team.

The cricket fans were also in all praise of the Aussie all-rounder and the Australian team. They took to Twitter for appreciating the hosts for a brilliant performance against the Sri Lankans.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to Australia’s win over Sri Lanka:

Speaking of the match, Pathum Nissanka and Charith Asalanka played the brilliant knocks of 40 and 38 runs respectively to help Sri Lanka post a total of 157 runs for the loss of six wickets in 20 overs. Sri Lanka also had suffered through a middle-order collapse as they couldn’t capitalize on their steady start for a big total.

While chasing the target, Australia lost their three wickets on the score of 89 runs in 12.2 overs but that was the moment when Marcus Stoinis arrived in the middle and changed things drastically in the favour of the Australians. He smashed a swashbuckling knock of 59 runs off just 18 balls with having four boundaries and six handsome sixes to his name. Notably, he scored runs with a strike rate of more than 300.

Eventually, Australia scored 158 runs for the loss of only three wickets and won the match by seven wickets only in the 17th over of the match with Stoinis as β€˜the player of the match.
