As for their comprehensive win over the KL Rahul-led side, it was Shubman Gill who played an absolute gem of a knock. He read the conditions brilliantly, and played the role of an anchor to perfection. The 22-year-old scored 63 off just 49 balls, and hit seven fours. While several fans initially perceived it to be a slow knock, it turned out to be just what the doctor ordered.

Gill carried his sublime form off the field, and showcased some of the same on social media as well. He came up with a befitting reply to his critics. The opener was earlier trolled on Twitter for his knock.

However, Gill took to the micro-blogging website to shut down his trolls in a really subtle manner. The Indian battle Tweeted two emojis, one being that of a tortoise and the other being of a hare. Thus, he indirectly meant that "slow and steady wins the race". It didn't take too long for his Tweet to go viral. Fans loved his savage response.

In the meanwhile, he was really pleased after contributing to his team's victory. Gill drew light on his knock, and also revealed that had a few back issues as well. The elegant batter will now be seen in action on May 15, against Chennai.

"Always pleasing when you're there till the end and finish the game for your team. I didn't expect the ball to seam as much at the start. It was nipping around, and then I expected the spinners to get some turn. I think they didn't bowl up much. Had Krunal pitched it up, it would have been tougher. It helped us turn the singles over. Not a lot of people gave us a chance at the start, but great to qualify now. The ground was soft and I had a bit of back issues, but hopefully it would all be fine," said Shubman Gill during the post-match presentation.
