Shaheen Afridi names three Indian batters as his dream hat-trick

Shaheen Afridi has been absolutely sensational in the last 12-15 months. In fact, it wouldn't be an overstatement to say that he is currently one of the best bowlers across all formats of the game. The speedster won several accolades during the recent ICC awards 2021.

Not only was he in the ICC team of 2021 for both the longest and the shortest format of the game, but he also went on to win The Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men's Cricketer for the year 2021.

Recently, he was recently asked to pick his dream hat-trick on '25 questions' by ESPNCricinfo, and Afridi went with India's top-three batters. He named Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli as his dream hat-trick. It is to be noted that he did dismiss the three of them not too long ago although not in a hat-trick.

It was during the India-Pakistan game during the ICC T20 WC 2021 which saw him pick the three stalwarts. In the meanwhile, he recently went on to comment on winning the ICC awards. Afridi felt absolutely privileged and honoured to win the award.

“I feel truly honoured and privileged to become the first Pakistan cricketer to win the prestigious Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the ICC Men’s Cricketer of the Year. I had always dreamt of doing something unique and special for Pakistan. In this background, I am elated and thank Almighty for blessing me with this respect," said Shaheen Afridi, as quoted by ICC.

“I also feel humbled to join a galaxy of legends who have previously won the Garfield Sobers Trophy. I have grown up watching the exploits of these cricketers and now to be bracketed with them is a matter of great honour and pride for me, my family, my teammates and my country," he added.
