The inaugural edition of the Road Safety World Series was a huge success. It saw several retired legends play on the field once again. As a matter of fact, renowned players like Sachin Tendulkar, Brian Lara, Jonty Rhodes, Herschelle Gibbs, Virender Sehwag, Kevin Pietersen etc participated in the first edition of this tournament. The fans were keenly waiting for the second edition of the event, but the COVID-19 situation put the fate of the tournament in jeopardy.

However, the doubts have been put to rest with the second season is reportedly set to take place in India in the final week of February. According to a report by MyKhel, the RSWS 2022 will be played across several venues across India in February and March.

It has been reported that there would be four venues, where the entire tournament would take place. However, the final schedule is yet to be confirmed. As the current COVID-19 situation in India isn't really that good, a final call is expected to be taken by the authorities after they get a clearer picture of the current scenario in the country.

“The organizers are looking for a window during the early part of the Indian summer to hold the second edition of the Road Safety World Series in at least four cities in India – Hyderabad, Vishakhapatnam, Lucknow, and Indore. Though the final schedule is yet to be closed, you can expect to see the legends in action again in the next couple of months,” said a source.

“The organizers and local administrations in these cities are also keeping a close watch on the current Covid scenario in the country to decide whether fans can be allowed in the stadium during the event. A final call on this will be taken at a later stage depending on the prevailing situation at that time,” the source added.

Thus, the fans are likely to be treated to another season of legendary cricketers battling it out against each other. However, unlike the inaugural edition, there hasn't been any news about Sachin Tendulkar participating in the RSWS 2022. There were a few reports suggesting that he wouldn't be playing the second season.
