Prithvi Shaw is currently busy playing for the Delhi franchise in the ongoing Indian T20 League. Before the season, Delhi fans were expecting to see him in great form as he has shown in the last home season so far. But, in the season opener against Lucknow, he scored only 12 runs off nine balls.

Then, in the second game against Gujarat, he failed again cheaply as Shaw scored only seven runs. So, fans were not happy with the form of the star young batter of team India. Now, regarding his form, the former team India cricketer, Virender Sehwag took a dig while comparing him with other batters like Shubman Gill, and Ruturaj Gaikwad.

As quoted by the Hindustan Times, Virender Sehwag said that Prithvi Shaw should learn from his mistakes. He also claimed that Shaw needs to make most of this Indian T20 League platform to strengthen his case for the team India. He said: “He has been dismissed playing those kind of shots so many times...but he should also learn from his mistakes, right?”.

“Look at Shubman Gill, who played U-19 cricket with him and is now playing Test, ODIs, and T20Is for India, but Shaw is still struggling in Indian T20 League. He has to make the most of this Indian T20 League platform and score runs. Ruturaj Gaikwad scored 600 odd runs in an Indian T20 League season. Shubman Gill also scored big runs. So even Shaw has to be consistent with his Indian T20 League scores,” Sehwag concluded.

Before the kick-off of this season, head coach, Ricky Ponting claimed that Prithvi Shaw is set to have his best Indian T20 League season in 2023. "He's been here right from the start actually. He's in better physical shape than I've ever seen him before. I spoke with him the other day about his attitude and the way that he's working and how things are going. And I honestly feel this is going to be his biggest season ever in the Indian T20 League. He just has that different look in his eye this year. You can see him probably hungry than ever,” Ponting said. However, he has yet to deliver this season and now, fans have also shown support for Sehwag for taking a dig at Shaw.
