The batting abilities of the Indian skipper Rohit Sharma are under the scanner as he failed another time to convert a good start into a good knock. The 35-year-old once again got out early on the individual score of 34 runs with four boundaries and two sixes in the ongoing first of the three-match ODI series against New Zealand.

Earlier, the skipper started well in the third and last of the recently concluded three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka. He went back to the pavilion with an individual score of 42 runs in the Thiruvananthapuram ODI against the Islanders.

Following these outings, it has now become a concern for Indian cricket fans as they are scheduled to play a couple of big assignments in ODI cricket. Just after the departure of Rohit, the fans took to Twitter and questioned his form in the 50-overs format.

Speaking of the ongoing first ODI between India and New Zealand so far, the men in blue are batting first after winning the flip of the coin and have scored 257 runs for the loss of five wickets in 41 overs. The star opener Shubman Gill there in the middle on an individual score of 138 runs alongside the new batter came in, Washington Sundar.

Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav fell prey to Daryl Mitchell with an individual score of 31 runs. Apart from that, the veteran of 46 ODI centuries couldn’t impress against the Kiwis. He fell early only on the score of 8 runs off Mitchell Santner.

Daryl Mitchell has scalped two wickets by conceding 30 runs in five overs alongside one wicket each claimed by Lockie Ferguson, Blair Tickner, and Mitchell Santner.

Notably, Rohit Sharma’s men and the Kiwis are playing this first fixture of the ODI series at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. The next two 50-over fixtures will be played at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Cricket Stadium in Raipur and Holkar Stadium in Indore respectively.
