If Reports are to be believed, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) have given their clearance to the Ahmedabad Franchise owned by the CVC Capital. The franchise has received the letter of intent (LOI) from the board which officially confirms that participation in the 15th edition of the Indian T20 League. The franchise was in some trouble after it was reported that they have invested in betting companies. Meanwhile, Asish Nehra will be the head coach of the franchise, while the former Indian coach Gary Kirsten will be the team's Mentor. Shreyas Iyer is likely to lead the team.

A prominent journalist KSR confirmed the news on Twitter.

For the unversed, the Indian T20 League 2022 will be a 10 team event, with two new teams from Lucknow and Ahmedabad. Lucknow have already announced their coaching setup that'll comprise former Punjab Kings coach Andy Flower as head coach and Gautam Gambhir as a mentor. Reportedly, KL Rahul will lead the side that will also include Rashid Khan. Notably, the franchises will be allowed to pick three players outside the mega auction.

Meanwhile, the auction that was set to take place in the second week of February, is likely to face a slight delay due to the COVID-19 situation. The BCCI is now even mulling over making operational changes to the schedule. The board is planning to stage the entire tournament in Maharashtra. If that's not possible, they are even ready to take the tournament out of India.
