On 11 March 2023, team India were in action on day three of the ongoing fourth Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia. The Men in Blue finished day two after scoring 36 runs without losing any wickets. So, fans were hoping for a solid start again in the first session of day three.

Both Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill managed to give a solid start. But, the team India sipper failed cheaply against Matthew Kuhnemann. He was not happy with such a soft dismissal as Rohit got out after scoring 35 runs off 58 balls. He smashed three boundaries and one six in his innings.

Then, Cheteshwar Pujara came in and showed his class. He played a knock of 42 runs off 121 balls, including three boundaries. Pujara also put up a solid partnership of 113 runs for the second wicket. But, Shubman Gill continued to play some delightful shots against both the Aussies spinners and pacers. Virat Kohli also looked solid and gave Gill the proper assistance in developing a partnership for the third wicket. Meanwhile, Gill notched up his second Test ton as it was his maiden ton on home soil. The star young batter played sensationally before getting out on 128 runs off 235 balls. He put up a partnership of 58 runs with Kohli.

Then, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja saw off the day carefully as India reached 289 runs for three wickets by the end of day three. Team India are still trailing by 191 runs against Australia and they will look to take a lead on day four. Kohli went unbeaten on 59* runs off 128 balls, including five boundaries. While, Jadeja finished day three with a score of 16* runs off 54 balls, including one six. For Australia, Steve Smith had a hard day as Australia managed only three wickets to take. All three spinners managed to take one wicket each.
