Mbappe will undergo further examination on September 17 after which a call on his selection for the Sunday game will be taken. Not only Mbappe but PSG will be without several key players for their game against Lyon.

Marco Verratti won’t be available for selection after picking up a knee injury. Also, Georginio Wijnaldum, who was withdrawn from the Champions League game against Club Brugge due to an ankle issue, has still not recovered completely. However, the Dutch midfielder is confident of attaining peak fitness before the Lyon clash. Meanwhile, Sergio Ramos continues to remain on the path to recovery.

PSG will be boosted by the return of Angel Di Maria and Idrissa Gueye after the duo missed the Champions League opener because of the suspension.

PSG has enjoyed a brilliant run the Ligue 1 and have won all of the five games they’ve played. They sit comfortably at the helm of the points table and have scored 16, the most goals in Ligue 1 so far. Meanwhile, Lyon are placed seventh in the table and are on a three-match winning streak in all competitions. They will be keen to build on the momentum.
