It was a decent season as it was their first year in the tournament. But, now, ahead of this season’s opener, Marcus Stoinis came up with a huge claim in a recent interaction. He said: "Hopefully we'll bring the trophy back home this year". Listening to that fans became surprised and shared their views on the social media platform.

“He can bat, and bowl, and is one of the best fielders.” - Gautam Gambhir on Marcus Stoinis in 2022

Speaking about Marcus Stoinis, the current global mentor of the franchise, Gautam Gambhir heaped high praises in 2022. While talking on Star Sports, Gambhir said: “After Ben Stokes, who is likely to stay away from Indian T20 League this season, Stoinis is the complete package. He can bat, and bowl, and is one of the best fielders. I think his addition is good news for the team. We have seen him perform in the 20-20 World Cup. He can win matches single-handedly”.

The Lucknow franchise picked him ahead of the mega auction in 2022. In the last season, the star Aussie all-rounder scored 156 runs in 11 matches and grabbed four wickets with the ball. Speaking of Lucknow’s chances, the former team India cricketer, Aakash Chopra said: "If they play to their potential, they should score 200 runs in every match. Quinton de Kock is not available for the first match, so Kyle Mayers might be seen opening with KL Rahul. Then Deepak Hooda at No. 3, you can keep Ayush Badoni at No. 4, Nicholas Pooran at No. 5, Marcus Stoinis at No. 6, and Krunal Pandya at No. 7”.
