The young Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has attracted the eyeballs of the cricketing fraternity as he has become the second-most-expensive buy in the history of the Indian T20 League. Five-time title winners Mumbai happened to sign the young prodigy for a whopping amount of 17.50 crores during the mini-auction for the next edition of the cash-rich Indian T20 tournament.

The young Australian lad has produced some brilliant performances while appearing for the national side. Green made his debut in the T20I cricket earlier this year in the month of August against Pakistan at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.

Earlier, during the ongoing mini-auction for the Indian T20 League 2023, star England all-rounder Ben Stokes was the headline of the day as the three-time tournament winners Chennai bought him in an amount of INR 16.25 crores.

But it was Cameron Green who happened to be the news of the day he ended up being the second most-highest bid in the entire history of the tournament since its inception 14 years back in the year 2008.

Earlier in the day, a battle was seen between Rajasthan and Bangalore for the star England all-rounder Ben Stokes. But eventually, Chennai arrived from nowhere in this bidding war and ended up locking Stokes for the next edition of the tournament. Notably, Stokes played a crucial and defining role against Pakistan in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 to cross the finishing line for the three lions.

Now, the 31-year-old is set to play under the captaincy of former legendary Indian captain MS Dhoni during the 2023 edition of the Indian T20 tournament.
