India and South Africa locked horns in the 30th match of the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 at the Perth Stadium in Perth. Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and decided to bat first. Indian batting order failed drastically they ended up losing their five wickets only on the score of 41 runs. Although the star Indian batting sensation Suryakumar Yadav stood strong and played a brilliant knock of 68 runs off just 40 balls with six fours and three sixes to his name.

The men in blue could manage to post a total of only 133 runs for the loss of nine wickets in the allotted 20 overs. While defending the target, the Indian pacers got a brilliant start, but they couldn’t capitalize on a win over the Proteas and end up on the wrong side of the match.

Rohit’s men also showed an average intent during the fielding, the catch drop from Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit’s run-out miss were not something fans expected.

Speaking of the match between India and South Africa, Suryakumar Yadav was the only batter for India who played a struggling and well-fought knock of 68 runs off just 40 balls with six boundaries and four maximums to his name. Other than him, none of the Indian batters could cross the mark of 20 runs. Lungi Ngidi, who replaced Tabraiz Shamsi in the playing XI against India, impressed everyone with his stunning bowling performance with four wickets by conceding 29 runs in his quota of four overs.

While chasing the target, the Proteas easily touched the finishing line after a bit of struggle in the beginning. David Miller and Aiden Markram’s knocks of 59 and 52 runs helped their team to chase down the target in 19.4 overs to win the match by five wickets.

It is also the first loss for the Indian team in the tournament following their two successive wins in against Pakistan and Netherlands respectively.
