India and Australia locked horns with each other in the first of the three-match T20I series. Both teams played this match at Punjab Cricket Association IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali. Aaron Finch won the toss and asked the Indians to bat first on the turf of PCA stadium. Batting first, India posted a decent and big total of 208 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

While chasing the target, the Aussies managed to score 211 runs in 19.2 overs for the loss of five wickets and the match by four wickets. The fans witnessed an entertaining and high match between two cricketing giants of the world.

Speaking of the match, then the Indian team got two early blows in the form of skipper Rohit Sharma and senior batter Virat Kohli. After that, another opener KL Rahul and senior batter Suryakumar Yadav took the charge and stitched a partnership of 68 runs for the third wicket. KL Rahul scored a half-century of 55 runs off 35 balls with four boundaries and three sixes to his name.

Other than him, star all-rounder, Hardik Pandya played a blistering knock of 71 runs off just 30 balls with seven boundaries and five massive sixes on his credit. Star batter Suryakumar Yadav also scored a very crucial knock of 46 runs off 25 balls with two boundaries and four sixes in his account. With the help of these vital knocks, India managed to post a total of 208 runs for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Nathan Ellis and Josh Hazlewood scalped three and two wickets respectively for the Aussies. Cameron Green also claimed one wicket.

While chasing the target, Cameron Green played a very fine knock of 61 runs off just 30 balls with eight boundaries and four sixes to his name. Other than Green, former skipper and senior batter Steve Smith scored 35 runs off 24 balls with three boundaries and a six on his credit.

Eventually, the visitors scored 211 runs in 19.2 overs and won the match by four wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.
