UP franchise made a winning start in the opening season of the Women’s T20 League on 5 March 2023. Grace Harris was the player of the match as she played a match-winning knock while chasing 170 runs. She scored 59* runs off 26 balls, including seven fours and three sixes with a strike rate of 226.92.

After that match, Grace Harris opened up about the nervy moments of that match. She said: “I started poorly and I thought I was fluffing around. You need to get the conditions of the wicket and I was thankful that Sophie also motored along. Great feeling to finish over the line. I knew what I wanted to do."

Harris further added: "I was getting antsy when there were so many breaks in the DRS. I was able to compose myself, but I was psyched to get the batting and score. I love batting with freedom. The coach is supportive and tells me to be free. She (Ecclestone) is a clean striker, and that is a part of how well I played at the end. When Sophie got a couple away, I just ran hard. It was good."

Then, she opened up about the secret behind such power of her hitting skills. "There was a little bit of confusion towards the end, when the ump walked over to say the DRS has gone down. It was a good bit of fun. Don't know where I'll find some burgers in India. Maybe some butter chicken," Grace Harris concluded. However, all eyes were on her again as UP took on Delhi on 7 March. But, surprisingly, Grace Harris did not get a chance in the final playing XI.

But, during the match, commentator Harsha Bhogle was seen going to the UP dugout and gifting a burger to Harris. Fans went crazy after seeing Bhoogle fulfilling her wish and shared some funny tweets over social media. Speaking of the match, the UP franchise lost their second match of the tournament by 42 runs while chasing 212 runs.
