Prithvi Shaw had a forgettable IPL 2023 for Delhi Capitals (DC) as he scored only 106 runs in eight matches, at an average of 13.25. He smashed only one fifty. So, DC fans were not happy to see him with such a form despite having a good domestic season prior to the tournament. But, now a video has gone viral where Shaw was seen attending IIFA Awards in Dubai alongside his rumoured girlfriend, Nidhi Tapadiaa.

On the green carpet of IIFA, the young cricketer made his first public appearance with Nidhi on 26 May 2023. They both posed for photos for the paparazzi. Shaw was wearing a sleeveless jacket, black shirt, black jeans and a black cap to top that. Meanwhile, Nidhi was wearing a black saree. She is known for her modelling and acting. But, during that, one of the paparazzi called Shaw ‘Rishabh Pant’ and that left all fans crazy.

After a poor start to the season, DC even dropped Shaw from their playing XI. Regarding that, after their loss against CSK, DC head coach, Ricky Ponting said: "Prithvi... the fact that he is not playing is an indication that he did not perform as we wanted him to. No one has really grabbed the opportunity with both hands yet." 

Regarding the same, assistant coach, Shane Watson said: "One of the most disappointing parts for DC this season was Prithvi Shaw. He's one of the most beautiful batters to watch and take down the best bowling with the skills that he's got. And knowing that we gave him a big stretch to find his feet. We also knew he has been a little bit inconsistent as well in the past few years. He should be dominating international cricket. But sometime it takes people some time to navigate how they can do that consistently. He certainly had an extra bit of fire in his belly the other day."
