Although, in a big piece of news, the few renowned faces of Mumbai cricket have refrained from voting. The list includes some legendary names in the form of Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Ajit Agarkar, Wasim Jaffer, Sanjay Manjrekar, Vinod Kambli, Avishkar Salvi, and Paras Mhambrey.

All of these veterans will not be allowed to use their voting rights in the upcoming MCA elections. It is because they haven’t submitted their voter’s I-cards and registered ahead of the election.

However, former World Cup winner Indian batter Sandeep Patil, who is there in contention for the president’s post, had made a request to allow the process of e-voting for the elections. But unfortunately, it was turned down later. Notably, Gavaskar, Manjrekar, and Agarkar are supposed to be in Australia for the commentary assignment in the upcoming 20-20 World Cup 2022.

Our candidate will be Amol Kale, we had a discussion with Sharad Pawar and Kale’s nomination as president of MCA is already there. So he will be contesting a post from our group,” said Shelar to reporters.
