In what it seems to be a shocking piece of news, the star and celebrated Indo-Pak couple of Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and legendary Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik have decided to part ways after a 12-year-long marriage. Earlier, the speculations of their divorce surfaced on social media following an emotional story posted by Sania Mirza on her Instagram handle.

Although, none of the individuals from this couple has come spoken anything about the rumors of their divorce. But now, some of the media reports have learned that it is now official about the divorce between Sania and Shoaib.

One of the reports from Pakistan-based news channel Geo News understands that both renowned sporting personalities of the sub-continent have made up their minds to file an official divorce and it’s only the legal formalities that are left now.

Speaking of the custody of their four-year-old son, Izhan, they will co-parent him and none of the parents will get sole custody of the latter.

Although the 40-year-old veteran cricketer’s Instagram bio still reads, “Proud Husband to Sania Mirza.”

Earlier, various media reports learned that the 35-year-old former Indian tennis veteran initiated the process of divorce with the World Cup 2007 runners-up Pakistan skipper. There were speculations that the Indian right-handed got to know about an alleged affair of her husband with Pakistani model Ayesha Omar.

In a surprising timeline of events, Sania Mirza hasn’t posted any pictures of her husband on her Instagram of late and fans took no time in speculating about the rifts between the couple.

Currently, Shoaib Malik is professionally in action in “The Pavilion” show of A Sports where he has been an analyst throughout the entire edition of the 20-20 World Cup 2022. He was recently seen dancing in the studio after Pakistan’s win in the semi-final against New Zealand and they made it to the final of the eighth edition of the tournament.
