After the immense success of the tournament in its first edition, fans were keenly waiting for the second season but COVID-19 forced the organisers to postpone the tournament multiple times.

However, the event will finally see daylight on December 5. The tournament will see several cricketing icons, including the likes of Faf du Plessis, Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ben Dunk among others grace the cricket field. The league matches of the tournament will be played at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, while the knockouts will be held at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Stadium, Hambantota.

In another massive development, the Sri Lanka health ministry has allowed 50% crowd in the stadiums. This is a massive boost as fans in the stadium add to the charm of the event and also charge up the players. The tickets are up for sale on BookMyShow and Daraz, which is the official digital partner of LPL.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Cricket Board, Health Ministry and IPG will ensure that spectators follow all COVID-19 protocols like wearing masks and maintaining social distancing during their stay at the ground.
