It’s hard to be a girl who lost his father due to cancer followed by a younger brother’s sudden death from a snake bite and still following her passion. Meanwhile, this journey from the depth of sorrow to a height of joy was similarly tormenting for Archana’s mother Savitri Devi, who was taunted as ‘Dayan’ (a witch) after losing her son and husband.

But tables turn, time files, that’s what the philosophy of life is meant for everyone who opts not to give up on the torments of life. Savitri Devi did similarly let her daughter pursue the passion of playing cricket despite the comments thrown at her by her relatives that she had directed the daughter on the wrong path.

Here’s how Savitri Devi recalled the tough journey of Archana Devi to the grand success

"Ladki ko bech diya, ladki ko galat dhande mey daal diya hai, ye saari baatein mere muh pe bolte they (I have sold my daughter, I have put her in a wrong line. People used to tell me these things to my face)," said emotional Savitri Devi to Indian express with tears of satisfaction and joy in her eyes.

"Bhaiya meri maa bahut mahaan hai, jinhone ek chawanni nahi help kiya kabhi wo aaj mehmaan bane hue hai and ye sab ko chai pila rahi hai (My mother is a great person, she is serving teas to those people, who had never helped us with a single penny.)" added Archana’s elder brother recalling the changing behavior of society after Archana’s success in cricket.

Notably, Archana played a very crucial role in the Indian team's victory against England in Final as she took the big wickets of Niamh Holland and skipper Grace Scrivens.
