India took on Australia on 17 February 2023 in Delhi in the second Test of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy. The Men in Blue won the series opener by an inning and 132 runs. So, fans were hoping for another dominant performance from the home side. While the visitors were looking to win the match to make it 1-1.

Speaking of the match, Pat Cummins won the toss and Australia opted to bat first. They made two changes. Travis Head came in place of Matthew Renshaw while they also handed a debut cap to Matthew Kuhnemann. He replaced Boland in the playing XI as Australia went with three spinners and one pacer. For India, Shreyas Iyer came in place of Suryakumar Yadav.

Australia got bundled out for 78.4 overs against India on day one of the Delhi Test

For the Aussies, David Warner and Usman Khawaja came out to open the innings. They managed a 50-run stand before Warner departed for 15 runs off 44 balls. Khawaja scored 81 runs off 125 balls, including 12 fours and one six. Peter Handscomb scored 72* runs off 142 balls, including nine fours. Other batters came up with some contributions as Australia got bundled out for 263 runs in 78.4 overs. For India, Mohammed Shami took four wickets for 60 runs in 14.4 overs. Apart from him, both Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja took three wickets each.

In reply, for the Men in Blue, KL Rahul and skipper Rohit Sharma came out to open the innings. However, both batters of team India managed to see off the remaining day without losing a wicket. They finished day one after scoring 21 runs in nine overs. Rohit remained not out on 13* runs off 34 balls, including one boundary. While Rahul remained not out on four runs off 20 balls. So, India will kick off day two with a trail of 242 runs. After seeing such a dominant performance from the home side, fans were happy and shared their views on the social media platform.
