Notably, the Indian management and the skipper Hardik Pandya were already under fire for ignoring Sanju Samson once again from the playing XI. Rishabh Pant’s failure on another chance spoiled the taste of the Indian cricket fans. They went on to lash out at the southpaw for registering another misery in the T20 internationals.

Here’s how fans reacted to Rishabh Pant’s failure:

Talking about the last five appearances of Rishabh Pant in the T20 internationals, he has scored only one inning where he crossed the individual mark of scoring runs in double-digit. The Indian management picked him in the last super-12 match against Zimbabwe followed by his appearance in the second semi-final of the tournament against England.

Pant failed to make an impact with the bat in both matches and could score only 3 and 6 runs respectively in both matches.

Speaking of the third T20I between India and New Zealand, the hosts won the toss and decided to bat first and scored 160 runs in 19.4 overs. Mohammed Siraj impressed everyone with his amazing performance by scalping four wickets by conceding just 17 runs in his quota of four overs. Other than him, Arshdeep Singh also scalped four wickets in his quota of four overs.

While chasing the target, the Indian team was playing on the score of 75 runs for the loss of four wickets in nine overs before the rain played the spoilsport. Eventually, the match ended up in a tie and Mohammed Siraj was adjudged ‘player of the match for his performance.
