The English cricketer notched his third century in the ongoing season on Saturday. Opening the batting for Rajasthan, he set the foundation for a big score against Delhi.

Buttler went on to hit his third ton, thereby becoming only the second player to have hit 3 centuries in a single edition of the Indian T20 League. He scored a valuable knock of 116 runs in just 65 balls, a knock which was laced with 9 fours and as many sixes.

His heroic performance with the bat helped the team notch the highest score by any team in the ongoing edition. Rajasthan scored 222 runs at the end of the first innings and, also, won the game by 15 runs.

In just 7 matches, the English cricketer has managed to score 491 runs, including three centuries. He scored those runs at an average and a strike rate of 81.83 and 161.51 respectively.

Buttler has opened with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Devdutt Padikkal in the ongoing edition of the Indian T20 League 2022. However, both of them are not his favorite players to open with.

Recently, he was asked to name two cricketers, one from the present and one from the past, with whom he would love to open the innings. Speaking to ESPN Cricinfo, Buttler named Rohit Sharma and Vivian Richards as two of his dream opening partners.

"From the past, it would be Vivian Richards. I would love to see him play T20 cricket. From the current, Rohit Sharma," Buttler said on ESPNcricinfo's 'Polite Enquiries'.

When asked who is the bowler, Buttler finds tough to face in the powerplay, he said: "Rashid Khan. He has got my number at the minute."

He was also asked to pick his best knock in the Indian T20 League, to which he said,

"My best IPL innings was against Mumbai Indians in 2018 when I got 93, I think," said Buttler.

Buttler’s performances have helped Rajasthan reach the top of the points table. They are currently sitting at number one position with 5 wins in 7 matches.
